Opening Days Fall 2026

• Gmail - this is the only app you can use to access your Pomfret email

• Google Calendar - view the daily schedule and other campus events

• Google Chat - this is how faculty to student text messaging happens

• Orah Student App  (formally Boardingware) - used to check-in and out of locations on campus and to initiate formal leave requests

• Laptops, phones & tablets: You can use either your Pomfret email address or your Pomfret username (email without the @pomfret.org) along with your password to connect to the "Pomfret School" network. It will work with either one. Please note this is NOT your computer password but is the same password you use to log in to your Pomfret Google account. 

• Gaming and multimedia devices (XBox, Playstation, AppleTV, Alexa, etc.): 

  • Require manual registration and connection the first time. 

  • Written permission is required from your advisor for gaming devices (please have them email techsupport@pomfret.org with permission)

  • Please make note of any rules pertaining to gaming devices in the Griffin Guide 

  • We start taking requests for these devices on Monday, September 14. Please do not see us for these devices before this date.

  • This process takes place using Google Meet so we can remotely make sure your device is connected. After the Tech Office receives written permission from your advisor, we will make an appointment with you to complete the registration process remotely.

• WEBSITE: my.pomfret.org or pomfretschool.myschoolapp.com (they go to the same site)

• Your username is your entire email address

• You should be redirected to sign in with Google

• Employees have access to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite

• Check this support solution on specifics for setting you your Adobe access

• Once you have installed the Creative Cloud for Desktop application, you can download any individual apps that you want to use.

• Dorm common rooms are equipped with TVs and AppleTVs (except Kniffin - which is piloting a no-AppleTV-smart TV setup)

• Pomfret School pays for YouTube TV in all common rooms and many shared spaces like Soft Auditorium, the Lodge, etc, We manage YouTube TV logins so if you ever notice a TV that is signed out, please let us know and we will log in again. 

• Students are welcome to sign-in with their own personal accounts for other TV services like Netflix, Prive Video, HBO, hulu, etc. AppleTVs should not require any passwords if students are downloading free apps like those. Students should sign-out of their accounts unless they agree to share it with others on the hall. 

• Periodic Phishing Tests: Students receive simulated phishing emails through Tartan to build hands-on experience recognizing suspicious messages in a safe environment.

• Immediate Alert Notification: If a student clicks a link or attachment in a test email, an instant alert informs them it was a simulation and highlights the red flags present in the email.

• No Mandatory Follow-Up: Tests are strictly for awareness and exposure. Students are not assigned mandatory training modules, videos, or follow-up coursework if they click a simulated phish.

• Building Future Habits: The program provides simple, low-stakes practice to help students build caution and cybersecurity awareness before moving on to higher education or the workplace.

The Technology Office is located in the library and is open weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
